This course is designed to meet all requirements for facialist who have a license expiring on Sept. 1, 2008, or after in Texas. The course includes:

  • Two hours of sanitation
  • Two hours of rules/laws
  • Two hours of facialist-related topics.

WE WILL REPORT YOUR HOURS TO THE TDLR UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE COURSE.

Hours required prior to September 1, 2008

TDLR approved continuing education (CE) hours are required to renew a cosmetology license. The hours required must be completed within the term of the license being renewed. For example, if a license expires on September 15, 2007, the hours must have been completed between September 15, 2005 and September 15, 2007.

Hours required on or after September 1, 2008

To renew an operator license, manicurist specialty license, facialist specialty license, hair weaving specialty certificate, hair braiding specialty certificate, wig specialty certificate, or shampoo/conditioning specialty certificate that expires on or after September 1, 2008, a licensee must complete a total of 6 hours of department-approved continuing education.

To renew an instructor license, manicure instructor specialty license, or facial instructor specialty license that expires on or after September 1, 2008, a licensee must complete a total of 6 hours of department-approved continuing education.

NOTE:  Effective October 11, 2007, cosmetology licensees who are at least 65 years of age, and have held a cosmetology license for at least 15 years will only be required to complete two (2) hours of continuing education in a health and safety course. All courses taken must be TDLR-approved courses.
